What we do

The main activities of the Collaboration are:

  • to act as a forum for the exchange of ideas and information among leading national community organisations, each working in distinct fields and representing distinct constituencies.
  • to carry out and publish research. The Collaboration draws on outstanding academic researchers around Australia to investigate major issues in Australian society, with a broad focus on sustainability, social justice, wellbeing, democracy, reconciliation and international responsibility.
  • to provide educational materials on important societal issues. The Collaboration has published an extensive range of Fact and Issue Sheets, Essays, Books and Reports for a general readership, working closely with university staff and schools. It also provides Study Guides for schools related to these Fact and Issue Sheets.

The Collaboration is an independent network; it has no political links and does not support any political party.
